Full Mojo Rampage - interview and exclusive gameplay demo
We sneak into Over the Top Games office to get an exclusive first look at Full Mojo Rampage, their first action-RPG. Meet its gameplay mechanics, artstyle and humor and know more about the Spanish indie studio that made NyxQuest.
Play movie
"started as an experiment about creating a different type of game, different from what we've dome before: NyxQuest and Fancy Pants Adventures, which were platform games. Now we're going for a more 3D action with some soft roleplaying type of gameplay. It's been a very challenging aspect, and right now most of the gameplay is done, most of the sceneries, so we're trying to find a gameplay that matches the game concept".
art different from NyxQuest:
"[with this art style] we wanted to match the gameplay, that's quite black humor, has some dark side on it, but at the same time we didn't want to make a creepy Tim Burton style (...) maybe more similar to what Monkey Island has. We want the player to remember that this is a New Orleans environment, but not as Disney's as for example in The Princess and the Frog".
gameplay starts at 3:00
- different chapters, (Baron Samedi drinks and smokes a lot) - one story based on different myths each

- you increase your Mojo by killing enemies, destroing stuff, completing challenges. When you reach your top, you have special abilities depending on your god.

- Rampage mode: turns bigger
- permadeath, but you keep gold, etc for next character
- voodoo pins are like little collectable perks
- we're reaching alpha, plan is to open it up for players

NyxQuest comeback: turns red, laughs, "probably in the future we're going to be able to have a NyxQuest 2" "we can show you an OTR video, but it's still in the air"
