downed three enemy fighter planes. I'm very sure of it. They were positively ID'ed as hostile and I downed three of them. The last Phoenix (the fourth) I launched at a debris of one of them. I knew it was a falling debris with forward momentum but I wasn't going to return with a heavy Phoenix missile still attached. It's a game, so I fired away my fourth and last Phoenix missile at the debris. There was no hostile aircraft left in the vicinity after I had downed those three. Nobody gave a chase. I landed back safely. This is a known bug in DCS, not being credited with air-to-air kills. No friendly aircraft was nearby, and the hostile aircraft were all downed. All three of them. An AMRAAM hit wouldn't have caused a large chunk of debris so the last Phoenix was definitely fired at a hostile fighter aircraft that had been hit by a Phoenix missile creating an additional radar contact which was branded as a new contact by my AI RIO (Radar Intercept Officer).
The Tomcat is the ONLY fighter aircraft/interceptor where I can survive often in thanks to its long-range sneaky Phoenix missiles.
