Fun With Flags Puzzles (inspired by The Big Bang Theory)
Fun With Flags – Racing flags, nation flags, maritime signal flags, all in one puzzle, standing between you and flag ignorance.
Who hosted a fictional YouTube channel called Fun With Flags?
1) MrBeast
2) Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan
3) Dr. Sheldon Cooper and Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler
4) Beluga
As you can see from the question above, I took inspiration for this puzzle from The Big Bang Theory, as Fun With Flags was one of my favourite things about the show and about Sheldon and Amy’s relationship. If it were a real YouTube show, I’d have watched all 232 episodes and read the transcript for the episode Amy forgot to press the record button for.
Here are a couple of bonus answers from questions I left out because they seemed too connected to the show to be general knowledge, and would take too much setting up for anyone not in on the joke:
“What animal appears most often on flags?”
“What animal appears second most often on flags?”
The main problem with this question is which flags to include in the question – and that’s probably why the internet can’t seem to reach consensus – with some people saying the lion is the most common animal on flags, followed by the eagle; and others saying the eagle is the most common animal on flags, followed by the lion.
“What’s the only non-rectangular flag?”
The only non-quadrilateral flag of a current sovereign country is that of Nepal…
…but that would have meant including too many conditions in the question and I talked myself out of it. I thought that if I asked the question as Sheldon does, it might confuse anyone who doesn’t know that a square is also a rectangle. Switzerland and Vatican City have square flags.
“Cool. I think I just learned something”
“Did you have fun doing it?”
“I’ll say!”

Update 21/11/2021 - I have changed the previous thumbnail to something a bit more interesting and that better represents that this puzzle video is inspired by the show. My old, kind of boring thumbnail can still be seen on Sheldon's whiteboard in the background, whilst Amy and Sheldon hold what could perhaps be the official flag of this channel (ha ha). Of course, the picture is from the show, but - even though it's fair use - I wanted to be sure I altered it enough, so I put it through a paint effect filter that looks great in full definition, yet oddly is less easy to perceive the smaller the image gets. I hope you enjoyed the thumbnail. It may be better than the puzzle, so I hope it doesn't get your expectations too high!
