A cool all-girl doujin fighting game based around the somewhat popular characters from Sunrise's Mai-HiME and Mai-Otome (or "My") series, it would be great if the fighting mechanics weren't so loose and if certain hit priorities were fixed. The game features rather clean, impressive visuals for a doujin fighting game (with some basic 3D elements) where characters can damage the environment temporarily with certain attacks or nasty falls, it has a nice sized roster of characters, even more stages to fight on, and a number of modes including the ability to fight over the net. It also features a pretty neat story mode where every character has a story, rivals, and an ending (including the hidden characters you unlock).

The fighting is relatively simple in and of itself and limits juggles to an extent by not allowing you to combo from sweeps. However, every character has some kind of move that can give you extra air time when you hit them, and this can cause some really cheap juggles if you know how to utilize it, even creating infinite or very long combos, though you can leap out of them depending on the circumstances. The characters are too floaty as a whole. Characters each have what's known as a "Child", an entity unique to each character (that will remind some of JBA "Stands") which can be used to assist you from fighting to taking your place on the battlefield, and it's fairly interesting but not too deep. Generally all characters' ultimate special utilizes their power as well as their child's power. Characters are all powerful and if you utilize certain mechanics such as the "Beat Back" system effectively, a character can take over 50% health with one blow. If Haruka is burning (powered up) and strikes someone with a flying kick during a Beat Back, she'll basically destroy them. I wish damage was adjustable. Depending on what version/patches you have, you can play the game with four players, though the fights are pretty cumbersome.

The game still seems to get attention from time to time and I don't believe the creators are through putting out updates just yet, so there's still time to polish this one. This is a video showing some of the stuff in the game. Enjoy.

Note: Video may take a while to process.
