Hello! This is Zack with a new speed model, this time it’s a childhood hero of mine, the one and only Optimus Prime! The reference I’m using comes from famed Transformers comic artist Guido Guidi, who has been working on the comics since DreamWave was still a thing. This particular version of Prime is loosely based on his toy, with details on the forearms that are directly derived from stickers the G1 figure had, instead of the yellow triangles most are familiar with. There are some details here that I did not follow though, as you will come to see.

All in all, this took me about 2 hours to model, and about an hour or so to rig and debug. There are some details from the reference that I missed, such as the lights on Prime’s toes, the tech greeblies on the inside of the thighs, and the hip wheels, and the proportions aren’t PERFECT, but otherwise this is a pretty close, or at least “close enough”, representation of the art I referenced. If I really wanted to, I could go back and add them back in, but I’m happy with the model in it’s current state.
