The game gets a lot tougher from around year 6 onward. A good strategy for survival is to balance making medium games yourself (to make more $) and to look for the right publisher deals (to make more fans), but a huge challenge early is managing your small staff.

Also note that PC is a great platform because it has no audience penalty and is cheap to develop on, but if you ignore your engine you will be screwed. Use those Research Points wisely.
