86Retro-game collecting is always cyclical. The line for what's popular and hot is always moving as those who grew up with specific systems get their first real jobs and look to collect back their childhood things. We're currently getting to the timeframe where collecting for the Xbox, Xbox 360, PS1, PS2, GameCube, and Wii are all super hot. And if it's not hot, it will be soon. As such, it is my belief that you're going to see prices start to rise on certain titles. So heed my warning, if you're on the fence you need to buy these must own PlayStation 3 Game Discs Today before the prices rise even more. Let's take a look at 3 of my recommendations.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
CIB Price: $12 - to -$15
The Force Unleashed gave us so much as Star Wars fans. I believe it was our first introduction to Sam Witwer as a voice actor, who would later go on to voice Darth Maul in Star Wars Rebels and Clone Wars, along with the Son of Mortis, and even Palpatine a few times! Force Unleashed is the story of Darth Vader's secret apprentice and, man, this game is SO GOOD! The fact that the environments are completely destructible, you could impale enemies with your lightsaber, it has an amazing story and it's just fun. I'm surprised this one is so cheap now, but it's also been re-released on the Nintendo Switch not too. Unlike Disney Star Wars, this is actually GOOD!
Jak and Daxter Collection
CIB Price: $24 - to - $26
The original Jak and Daxter were amazing on the PS2, and to see them remastered in HD for the PS3 is just amazing. The comedy and crassness is all here, along with the tight gameplay, wonderful levels, and great interaction between our two lead characters. This is classic Naughty Dog at their best. Well, before they went in the dumpster, but that's a video for another time.
Ratchet & Clank Collection
I love Ratched and Clank, and being able to play the originals in HD is so much fun. Next to Super Mario, I don't know that any other series hits as hard or as good to me as Ratchet and Clank. In this collection you get the original game, Going Commando, and Up your Arsenal. Before Insomniac was making killer Spider-Man games, they were mastering their craft with our favorite Lombax and Robot.
