🔴Game Maker Studio 2 | Basics - A must know! - Fonts + chars + language
This basics video tutorial shows you how to use fonts in GameMaker Studio and how to enable special characters (of languages or even other languages) which are not being used per default in GameMaker Studio.
This is how it works. When you create a font (asset) GameMaker saves this font as glyphs in the texture page (as a graphical image). These fonts normally are limited to 32 to 127 characters which have upper and lower case letters aswell as numbers. To enable more characters you can advance the range to the ascii standard to get even more latin characters for drawing.
But what if you want to include even an alphabet like russian, chinese, indian or arabic? That you can do by reserving the range for those characters aswell (shown in video). Please keep in mind to only advance the range if that specific language is really needed because you are saving everything on your texture page.
Tldr.: Apply range in font editor to get more characters
