Nine slices ninja style [GameMaker Studio Update 2.32]
9 slices are basically a way to stretch an image but to keep the 4 corners static so that it still looks usable for textboxes, menues or even healthbars.
This video tutorial shows you what 9-slices are and 2 practical demonstrations how to utalize this brand new feature in GameMaker Studio 2. The new function has been added to the sprite editor where you can optinally define and set the your sprites as a 9-slice and then you can stretch these by changing the image_xscale and the image_yscale.
Keep in mind that the 4 static corners of the 9-slice are always being drawn the same. This means that they are always there and you cannot shrink them like you would normally could change the size by chaning the x-or yscale.
