It's a little late... but LAST WEEK in gaming news.
Ninja Misogyny
Last week Ninja said he doesn’t stream with female streamers because he doesnt want the backlash. Good on him.
DUNE Tabletop
Gaming company Gale Force 9 just announced that they acquired the license to produce Dune games. There are plans for board games and some miniatures set to release with the new movie in 2020. They are also teaming with the company that gave us the fallout tabletop RPG, Modiphius, to do a Dune tabletop.
D&D Magic Mashup
In November the D&D online world is expanding into Magic:The Gathering territory. The city of Ravinca is becoming part of the D&D world. Ravinca, for those that don’t know, is the world sized city that originated in Magic:The Gathering lore. With this mashup come 4 new playable races to the world of D&D:
Loxodon
Simic Hybrid
Vedalken
Viashino
The full working descriptions can be found here: https://media.wizards.com/2018/dnd/downloads/UA_RavnicaRaces.pdf
These are effectively in the beta stage right now with full roll out scheduled November 20th.
Forza Horizon 4
Leaked images in Imgur show the warthog again… but there is speculation that this time there might be more than just a crossover vehicle. Speculation is abuzz that there will be a Halo track to race on, because of the background of the leaked image.
AND we got a trailer with all of the confirmed additions to the game here: https://youtu.be/rfLpkoFVwaw Dynamic seasons and whatnot.
Fallout 76
Perk cards…
https://youtu.be/HsAyw9YQwtM
So here is the new perks system. We still have the SPECIAL categories that we know and begrudgingly love, but now the perks tree has gone through quite an overhaul. Now instead of just assigning points to categories you may or may not use, you get cards as well. Each card is worth an amount of points in each category. So if you use your points to open up Luck you don’t automatically get to choose any perk in that category for that level of points, you assign cards that cost those points. Almost like a proper perk tree… but still fairly misguided.
And then there is the Griefers… that is pretty awesome!
What did I miss? What should we talk about next week?
