Ganbare Goemon 2: Kiteretsu Shōgun Magginesu - Coastal Area (Sumo Castle + Impact Boss 1)
The Mystical Ninja franchise (or, as it's known in Japan, Ganbare Goemon) is very underrated and obscure outside of Japan and while there are easily over a dozen games in the franchise spanning several genres, only 4 have been localized by Konami. Ganbare Goemon 2: Kiteretsu Shōgun Magginesu is the 11th game in the franchise and the second SNES (or as it's called in Japan, the Super Famicom) game. Unfortunately, this one was never localized (shame, because i think it's better then Legend of The Mystical Ninja), it shares few of the same concepts as the previous SNES game, such as similar locales and some of the same characters, however, the gameplay is much more refined and as a result, more responsive making for better platforming, towns are no longer littered with enemies and not to forget one of the new additions to the game, boss battles involving giant mechs duking it out.
The game is entirely in Japanese, so i won't be bothering with talking to NPCs (besides those that are required to progress) or messing around with the mini games (not that i care much about them anyways). As you might notice, the type of game this is, doesn't really require that you be able to read Japanese in order to play and enjoy it.
We finally arrive at the first Castle, which is (again) not overly hard and a little cool (loved the enemies jumping in through the windows!), exploring deeper, we encounter the first boss, Bunny Minion with Robo-Sumo Suit...not a very cool name, but his pretty easy to beat. Afterwards, it's time to summon Impact and head off against the boss who escaped and once we catch up with him? Yep, the giant mech brawl begins against Sumo Robot. It takes me a while to come to terms with it's capabilities (being a veteran of the N64 games, i'm looking for non-existent combos to execute). After a few retries, we finally beat it (just barely).
