Nether: Prey or Pray is one of those Early Access games that you are kind of unsure about, but with some persuasion from friends, it was bought. I must say, I am glad I did though. I have no idea if playing the game by yourself is any fun, but if you find a few buds and go in not expecting that much...You Will have a Blast! (Promise)
For the last year I have always been an opponent of DayZ, because to be honest, I hate the Arma Engine. I think it is a steaming pile of shit. So I could never get behind the game because it was buggy, not easily accessible, and to be frank, a pain in the ass to play. This game seems to streamline a lot of those issues. For one...its not a military simulator. Its meant to be played to have fun. BUT! That doesn't mean the game is free of issues. It is in Early Access, but even on low-medium settings at 720p, your FPS will be from 20-80, for no given reason. There is no party or team system, so if you die, you will be doing a good bit of walking back to your friends, and I feel the monsters do wayyy too much damage. But I guess it does add to the suspense.
But for those negatives, the game does have a lot going for it. You actively scavenge for supplies, you never know who to trust, and you must use your wits to survive. Its fun.

Nether is a first-person urban survival gaming experience unlike any other. Nether forces players to make quick life-saving decisions in an unforgiving environment. In this post-apocalyptic urban world, death is waiting around every corner, at the top of high-rise buildings, and in the grasp of powerful teleporting creatures known as Nethers. To navigate this high-tension environment, players must use skill and craft in order to obtain food, weapons, supplies, and other resources necessary to survive in a desolate and dangerous city. Players will need to choose whether or not to team up with others or go at it solo against the Nethers, other players, and unpredictable, treacherous world objectives. In the end, players must decide if they will Prey or Pray.
