Please read this description fully for important information about this video game and how to play it.

**ABOUT THIS VIDEO**

This is the YouTube mirror for the full digital/streaming version of "GAZ 'N BLAZZZT!" This version is designed for play via a modern media player application or streaming service (like YouTube).

This is NOT the version of the game optimized to be encoded on a VHS tape. The VHS version will be uploaded later this year at the same time that the physical version is released.

**COMPATIBILITY**

The game has been tested on several CRTs and LCD screens. It has been compatible with all LCD TVs/monitors tested so far. The ActionMax component was incompatible with a generic CRT TV brand from the 90s, but passed tests on Sony Trinitron, Panasonic, RCA, and Zenith tubes. The Video Challenger tests were about 60 percent successful on both CRT and LCD screens. ActionMax tests found that low lighting conditions interferes with hit detection on CRTs.

**BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS**

Full enjoyment of the game requires the simultaneous use of the Worlds of Wonder ActionMax console (or Takara Video Challenger) AND the Sega Video Driver. HOWEVER, it can be enjoyed and played with just one of these consoles.

Here's how to play:

1. Hook up ActionMax and Video Driver as usual.

2. Stream this video to a screen, such as a television or a computer monitor.

Note: For play on a CRT (which the video is optimized for), consider connecting a PS3 or an Xbox 360 via component (or composite) and run the video from the YouTube app or Plex. (My best test was Plex via Xbox 360.)

3. Use the Video Driver to drive in the game as you normally would. The driving portion is in a first person perspective. To avoid losing points follow the curves in the road.

4. Use the ActionMax for shooting portions. (Video Challenger can be used in lieu of ActionMax.)

Alternative modes of play:

Instead of one player driving and shooting, two players can alternate driving and shooting portions.

An unlimited number of ActionMax and Video Driver consoles can be used to increase the number of players.

**PHYSICAL VERSION**

The physical version of this game will be published later this year by the subreddit community /r/retrogaming. A limited number of copies will be made and auctioned on eBay with ten dollar opening bids. All proceeds will go to the charity childsplay.org.

Included in the physical release are instructions, case, manual, cassette tape, label, and a hand-numbered insert.

**ABOUT GAME**

GAZ 'N BLAZZZT is a homebrew game compatible with three VHS-based consoles: The Worlds of Wonder ActionMax, the Sega Video Driver, and the Takara Video Challenger.

The plot revolves around a dad caring for his ill son. The game takes place in the boy’s dream, where he comes to his dad for help. In the child’s mind the two drive up a mountain to find the causes of his illness and blast them into submission.

GAZ 'N BLAZZZT is the first homebrew video game for any of the three platforms it supports. It is the first video game in history to require more than one console for a full gameplay experience.

It’s also the first game published and developed by the mod team of the /r/retrogaming subreddit.

The cost of the final game will be free for those who choose to download it digitally. The full game along with files will be made available on the YouTube channel “Retro Game Living Room.”

A limited number of copies, approximately ten, will be made available via eBay. One hundred percent of the final auction value will go to Child’s Play (childsplaycharity.org) via the eBay for Charity program.

GAZ 'N BLAZZZT made its public debut at the Game On Expo (gameonexpoaz.com) on Saturday, August 11th.

**ABOUT CHILD'S PLAY**

“Child’s Play seeks to improve the lives of children in pediatric hospitals and any other child welfare facilities through the kindness and generosity of the video game community and the power of play.” The organization has raised over $44.4 million since 2003.

**ABOUT /R/RETROGAMING**
