My Gears 5 Act I Impressions are best described as confused (albeit happy) squeals! This opening chapter of the Gears 5 campaign was a gorgeous introduction to the world of Sera, and to our team of tough-as-nails Gears, JD, Kait and Del. Joining them is series mainstay, Marcus Fenix and boy, oh, boy, do I love John DiMaggio's voice!
Obviously, coming in so late onboard the Gears franchise means I've got considerable amounts of backstory missing but the 'Previously on Gears' section gave me an inkling of what's going on as the single-player campaign picked up. And if that wasn't enough, the gunplay is fun enough on its own to carry the game past any point of confusion I might've felt. One thing I regret -- I don't have a buddy to play through the co-op campaign with!
