How does Gears of War 4 Horde 3.0 work?

►1. Select your class: There are 5 different classes to choose from in Horde 3.0:

a. Soldier
b. Scout
c. Engineer
d. Heavy
e. Sniper

► 2. How are the classes in Horde 3.0 different?

a. Soldier is best against smaller enemies and doing damage over time on larger enemies.

b. The Scout gains double power when they pickup power during combat – they can make a huge difference on your team.

c. The Engineer is the base builder, maintainer, but also can be very powerful on a manned turret – because they can repair it and refill it cheaply.

d. The Heavy can do huge damage on bigger enemies and clumps of enemies.

e. Sniper does best against bigger enemies that need massive precision damage.

► 3. How does the class leveling system in Horde 3.0 work?

a. In Gears 4 Horde there are 10 levels for your class (each class has it's own individual level progression)

b. At level 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 you gain an addition skill for your class.

► 4. How to level up skills in Horde 3.0?

a. You get skill cards from card packs which you can buy with in game currency you earn by playing Horde mode and Gears 4 Multiplayer.

→ Tip - The best source for Horde skill card is the Horde Booster packs.

b. To level up a skill you need to get duplicates of that card. You can either get them through Horde Booster packs or by scraping other cards you own.

→ Tip - Scrap is a second currency in Gow 4 that allows you
destroy unwanted cards and build cards you do want.
However, Scrap can be an expensive way to create a card so make sure you know what you want.

► How to level up your class in GoW 4 Horde

1. Play Horde 3.0 – you only get XP for your Horde class by playing Horde mode

2. You get higher class XP on higher difficulties

3. You get a consecutive wave completed bonus – so you get more class XP the longer your team goes without failing a wave.
At this point, this is all really know about how the system works. Once we break the code I’ll make a video specifically on how to level up faster.

► Pro Tips for Gears of War 4 Horde

1. For beginners, just to get your feet wet – use the Soldier. The soldier is a standard Gear that will feel familiar especially if you’ve played the campaign.

2. Find where the enemies spawn and ambush them. – plant grenades if you have them.

3. Let your Scout pickup power – they get double power during combat.

→ Tip - Callout the last few enemies and leave them alive so the
Scout can get as much power as possible.

4. Build throughout the game to level up your fabricator. By level 30ish you’ll have level 3 and later level 4 emplacements. The level 4 man turret is a BEAST.

5. When it’s released, use the LFG feature on Xbox Live to find other Horde mode players committed to doing 50 waves and using their mics.
