The GeekSHO goes to Sonoma Raceway with the Lightspeed HPDE on May 31 2025. I was in the low-intermediate group (purple) which requires a point-by for all passing. My day ended with a power steering leak, but a small price for 100 minutes of track driving. The video quality is so-so, but it's what I captured.

My best time was 2:13.244.

The car is my 1989 Ford Taurus SHO.
Engine— Stock 3.0 with ported intake, header-back exhaust.

Driveline— Stock 5 speed with Quaife ATB differential, 6-puck clutch, aluminum flywheel and Jose F. SHOrt Shifter.

Suspension— Eibach Pro Kit, Monroe OE Spectrum struts, 20mm/26mm F/R swaybars.

Chassis— Aluminum subframe bushings, strut tower bars, subframe connectors, H-brace, moderate weight reduction.

Front brakes— 13" Mustang Cobra calipers, slotted rotors and Powerstop Track Day pads.

Rear brakes— 10.6" rotors "96 brake" upgrade with ceramic pads.

Wheels/tires— 18" Kazera KZ-A with Accelera 651 Sport 245/40/18

In car footage was taken on my old GoPro Hero 3+ Black, but I couldn't get it to connect to my phone, so I had no preview. I just set it up and pressed record, but I wish I had spent more time prepping the camera with a filter and external mic.
