Generators are just broken! When a survivor dies on hook and leaves the tally screen, exiting back into a lobby to find a new game, survivors in the main game can repair a single generator, which will then instantly repair another generator, skipping one entirely. (So you have 2 gens remaining soon as you repair that generator, exit gates will be powered up instantly)
