Hi everyone,
Welcome to another Genshin Impact video. In today's video I'll be discussing how I defeated the ruin guard at Thousand Winds Temple. The quest for Dvalin's tears takes you to three different locations, forcing you to duke it out with various foes.
Some of these enemies aren't very easy to take down especially if you attempt these parts of the quest without ascending your characters. The first attempt at Thousand Winds Temple amounted to a disastrous defeat which was quite a confidence-breaking experience.
After that failed attempt, I went off to fetch the other tears and was successful at the ruins in the forest. However, a second wave of defeat at the hands of a gang of hilichurls, mages and a mitachurl sent me all the way back to Mondstat.
Now, in the time I wasn't on the main mission I managed to complete various side quests, started doing commissions and was able to rank up allowing me to get my characters to level 20 and more.
There are many different ways the main quest challenges can be completed... but this was just my way of bringing down the metallic giant who I'd been cowering in fear of.
Many factors influence your ease of victory over these enemies, but every gamer has their own approach. Who's to say that 20 minutes of long range shots is not going to take down these behemoths?
Personally, I felt like leveling up was the key to taking down these enemies thereby permitting me the opportunity to complete the quest.
Of course, player skill and confidence influences your ability to do battle one-on-one but, weaponry, weapon strength and character abilities are also factors which can affect the damage inflicted on your enemies.
Amber's a great long range character and being someone who prefers to shoot my shot from a distance... sniping was my preferred approach with this challenge.
I thought why not test Amber's ability to take down the ruin guard?! So there I stood, day into night and night into daybreak shooting at this metal head.
Of course standing afar off can have some downsides.
One is definitely less critical damage inflicted meaning more shots required to take it down.
Essentially, it boils down to patience... if you're a patient person well you can definitely manage with this. If you love the challenge and excitement of face-to-face combat then be my guest.
