In 1997, Steve Pettafor started a "rehearsal" band. It soon became clear that the music they were making was too good to keep to themselves. His leadership has created one of the hottest big bands working today. His vision of blending classic and contemporary styles has produced an award-winning sound. Inspired by Steve's enthusiasm and sense of fun, these accomplished players clearly enjoy themselves.
Special guest vocalist Canadian jazz crooner Vincent Wolfe has spent the last decade carving out a reputation as one of the most original and promising interpreters of song on the recent music scene. His captivating warmth and vocal expressiveness have been described by Manhattan Transfer founding member Laurel Massé as “somewhere between Chet Baker and Mel Tormé… a wonderful place to be!” According to jazz legend Marlena Shaw, Vincent has been “blessed with a golden sound”. With three critically acclaimed albums (Trust the Vibe, Until Tomorrow, Weaver of Dreams) and hundreds of club, concert and festival dates under his belt, Vincent has built a reputation as a charismatic performer with a fast-growing fan base. In late 2010 he released his long-awaited third CD, "Weaver of Dreams” that features a hip, chilled-out mix of jazz standards, pop tunes and lesser-known gems mainly from the 40s and 50s. Presently, Vincent is making waves in the swinging big band scene, as lead male vocalist with the renowned Bob Cary Orchestra and frequent guest singer with the fabulous George Lake Big Band.
