Getting out the way of the Fire Brigade! - Ep.19 - Emergency Services In Scotland
The Emergency Services in Scotland series documents the work of the emergency services and beyond, with dashcam and phone clips! In this episode: Travelling home from work, I noticed the fire brigade approaching behind me with blue lights blazing! Knowing the roads, I planned ahead that I was going to pull off the road at the bus stop further up the road. I managed to pull in as they were catching up to me, and I was able to let them by safely. Check out the series playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLalu5P0v3O2KhOyHOd42UPtE3JCeDn48r
Remember when the emergency services are behind you with their lights on, think smart: plan ahead where you can pull over safely and get there in as quick and as clear a manner as you can safely manage. This allows the emergency services to get by unhindered, keeping people safe!
The second clip I added as a bonus is a Police Scotland Volvo V70 of the roads policing unit, making a routine traffic stop off the Edinburgh Bypass (A720)
Clips:
0:00 - Dalkeith's Fire appliance making it's way to an emergency in Mayfield.
0:41 - A Police Scotland Volvo V70 on a traffic stop on the City Bypass.
