Getting Over It with KiwiPenguin (me)

Once on a calm and peaceful day, I was testing the limits of what I could do with the 2.2 editor and managed to make an entire control and physics system for getting over it. After a few weeks of creating and polishing it, I thought it would be funny to make an entire map for it and upload it on april 1st, so here it is.
The system is pretty good to play with most of the time but it has a few bugs in it that I can’t fix, with the biggest one being that it can crash a lot. It seems to crash less often after you’re been in the level for more than a minute or two and if you go slower. This probably means it’s not gonna get rated but who knows, maybe robtop will optimize the game enough so that it plays consistently one day. If you want to go into the editor and see if you can fix the crashing, go ahead (it will take you a while to study how the system works).

Bugs aside, I’m pretty proud of this. I made the entire system without spwn and there were a lot of satisfying moments when implementation ideas worked out. Making the actual mountain was super fun too and I hope you get a lot of the level references that I put in.
The further I got into creating it the more I started to appreciate the original Getting Over It. Like, I already remember loving the game when it came out but looking back at it, I just absolutely love Bennett Foddy’s monologues; they have some interesting topics, they’re kind to the player, and they get more serious towards the end, making it super satisfying and even kinda emotional to finish the game. If I was able to import my own audio in my gd levels I would have loved to voice some more original monologues about creating in gd.
I know I’ve made april fools levels 2 years in a row but do not expect another one next year. I will only make one if I have a good idea (very low chance)
