Watch me queue into one game and just getting flat-out owned.

Okay, so I guess that wasn't really that great an impression. Here's what I think. The latest title from DmC and Hellblade developers Ninja Theory sees the studio attempt their own spin on a multiplayer online PvP game.

There are shades of other similar games with cartoony stylings like Overwatch, Paladins, et al, but this game features a primarily third-person based combat style. It's not about aiming as you can lock onto enemies and target them, but it's closer to MOBA-style with predominantly ability-based combat. Gameplay concepts are also pretty similar to Overwatch as they're objective-based with point captures, resource accumulation, etc.

It does seem like even with Xbox Game Pass, the game's playerbase is sadly quite small. At that point it becomes sort of hard for the game to balance matches adequately, as you can see in various manners here (having no one to backfill a game and then backfilling into a losing game). If you or your friends are wanting to try this out, I recommend trying it out via Game Pass...and then tell your other friends. Being utterly humiliated in this game might not have seemed like fun, but I like what they're going for (especially with it being more aim-friendly).

If there was such an option, I couldn't find it; but I felt there should've at least been a practice vs AI option in order to improve. I was incredibly green.

Sidenote: I attempted to stream this, but my lousy PC gave up. Here's the trainwreck footage in case anyone wants to watch it. Recording it worked out so much better (but not entirely, I was still getting stuttering, and there's graining in this video here. Sorry!). If you play this, make sure you have a good PC.
