25You have a choice of two worlds to visit at the start of the game, I think technically the cartoon world "Out of Toon" is the first but I went for this horror themed world as my starting point.
There is always a set amount of red remote collectibles in every main world and they are required to unlock other worlds and bosses. You can only collect one red remote at a time as getting one will end the stage. This means that you have to visit every stage multiple times depending on how many red remotes there are. So three red remotes will require that stage is visited at least three times. There are also two silver remotes in every stage, one you get for finding a set amount of collectibles (every stage has a unique tiered set of collectibles) and the other is hidden somewhere in the world itself. Both can be collected at once so you could get one red remote and two silver remotes in one visit. Silver remotes unlock bonus stages where you can earn gold remotes. Gold remotes unlock secret stages that are required for 100% completion.
This is a totally blind, warts and all run and I'll leave deaths in when I'm going for the collectibles "reward" silver remote because dying doesn't respawn them so you'd miss me finding them otherwise. Though once I've found that remote I might cut other deaths out if they get repetitive, I'll see how it goes. Sometimes I visited a world and never found any remotes but did earn some lives. I won't show those parts but thought I'd mention it just so you know.
