Now that everyone is playing Elden Ring, and probably getting killed a lot, we thought it would be fun to reflect on the original Dark Souls game….Ghouls N Ghosts by Capcom. Sure ghosts n goblins was chronologically prior to this, but Ghouls N Ghosts is so much better….so there. Anyway, we find the similarities to be incredible: dark medieval fantasy setting, emphasis on large difficult boss fights, emphasis on incredible difficulty in general, lots of gothic imagery, good vs evil, gallant knights in armor. It’s a bit uncanny, really.
