Firstly, commands must be enabled in your world. This is the only method to obtain the item without mods, as the block cannot be collected in Survival and is not found in the creative menu.
Enter the command " /give @p minecraft:spawner "
/give is the command to give items
@p specifies your player; You can also use your username, but @p is faster to type.
minecraft:spawner is the tag used for the mob spawner block. This changed from mob_spawner in more recent versions, which can cause confusion.
The mob spawner will be dropped on the players location, usually being picked up automatically.
Placing the spawner will spawn pigs by default. This can be changed using mob eggs.
Right-click the spawner with the egg to change what mob it spawns.
