Q4 2017 set a new record for the most app downloads in a given quarter, with global app downloads reaching nearly 27 million across the iOS App Store and Google Play, according to App Annie.
This represents an increase of 7% over Q4 2016. Global consumer spending across the App Store and Play Store was also record-breaking in Q4, growing 20% year-over-year (YoY) to exceed $17 billion. It’s important to note that App Annie counts app downloads as new downloads and doesn’t include re-installs or app updates.
