How's it going everyone, in this GameMaker Studio 2 tutorial series we are going to try an create an RPG using GMS2. This will be an ongoing series of tutorials that gets updated weekly as I make progress on this game. In this first episode we briefly go over the idea of the combat scene of the rpg as it's the first thing I'm working on. It will probably be the most complicated aspect of the whole demo, so doing it first makes sense. Once that gets out of the way it's just implementing core systems, creating and adding assets then polishing up the project. In this first episode, we tackle a simple part of the battle system, the buttons. We go over how to make them appear highlighted using particle effects or animation. I don't plan on rushing through this project, main reason is I'm already working on several things at the same time. (Another GMS2 project, an RPG Maker MV title, making videos like first impressions, interacting with people on discord etc.) I do plan to see this to the end and add it to the Driftwood Demo Reel eventually though. As always, thanks for watching! :)
