You'd normally have to stop and operate your new trinket a little at this point of the game, temporally fixing the bridge so that you can get across. But using the Shield jump, you can get across regardless. This way you skip the puzzle as well as the short cutscene that follows it.

There's some soft collision at the second half of the bridge that makes Kratos fall endlessly if he stops on it, eventually killing him. Fortunately landing on that collision after the Shield air attack makes Kratos bounce in air, allowing you to do a jump and another shield landing... so you can comically bounce over the dangerous area instead of getting stuck.

However...! The camera becomes glitched if you do this, and it will remain focused on the Oracle after the cutscene. This is a pretty annoying thing, but it fixes itself once you move to the next area, so it's not irredeemably bad.
