This is the first portable God of War title which was re-released for PS3 with upgraded graphics. Well, it sure shows that it was a PSP game, but to be honest, it looks almost as good as the HD remakes of the PS2 titles.

Chains of Olympus is a prequel to the God of War trilogy which lead from his deicide on Ares to the destruction of Olympus. This time you see some of his earlier life, but already past the event that lead to him killing his own family. He is still somewhat loyal to Olympus and believes that serving the gods may eventually result in his redemption.

Don't let the game fool you by its appearence. It looks and feels like God of War for the poor, initially, but it gets better and better or "more epic" to use one of the most overused words on the internet. I don't want to spoil too much, but the story ties in nicely with what you see in the other three games. Persephone, for example, or Atlas get a connection to you story-wise.

If you have money for only one HD collection, get the first one with God of War 1 and 2. This game is certainly the weakest in the series. Not only due to technical limitations, but also due to its length. Your first playthrough won't take much longer than 4 hours on normal difficulty. They made good use of the storage capacity of the UMD disc, but in-game cutscenes may have been better to save space on the disc instead of pre-rendered videos.

there is not much to say about Chains of Olympus other than that it's a good game worth getting. Just don't expect to be blown away like with the games on home consoles.
