It kinda blows my mind that other folks who made a game movie of this didn't use immersive mode.

For this project, I played on the easiest difficulty, completely ignored side quests, and I used immersive mode. Since this is designed to be fun and interesting to watch, whenever I got a new move for Kratos or new gear for Kratos and Atreus, it was 100% for cosmetic purposes. In the beginning, it was kind of annoying how limited Kratos's move set is because I ended up using a lot of the same moves over and over, but later on, there's a lot more variety in the combat, and the runic attacks are already designed to be a spectacle!

You'll notice that our heroes' weapons and armor change throughout the movie. This was intentional because we actually see Brok and Sindri make improvements to the axe, so it's no stretch to say that Kratos would want the rest of their gear improved as well. Seeing them in different armor also helps to convey character growth; when Atreus is arrogant, I gave him red armor because red is more aggressive, and when he is humbled, I gave him blue armor because blue is less aggressive, but it's also significantly tougher-looking than his original gear, in order to convey growth as an adventurer. For Kratos, I stuck with the strength-favoring armor because that's the style he wears in the beginning, but when he had to be the voice of reason, I gave him the less aggressive-looking runic-favoring armor.

All in all, I hope you enjoy God of War 4: The Movie!
