How to Get to Muspelheim (Fire Realm) in God of War
If you’ve been venturing across Midgard with Kratos and Atreus in the latest God of War, chances are you’ve already come across Tyr’s tower and the Travel Room. Here, you can travel to and reach the different realms that make up this vast Norse world. One of the realms you’ll see here is Muspelheim, otherwise known as the Fire Realm. This acts as God of War’s arena, of sorts, giving you different challenges to complete in order to get rare and valuable crafting material. You can’t just go here, though, you’ll need to unlock the ability to do so first. As such, you may be wondering how to get to Muspelheim. Well, let’s run you through it.

The long and short of it is that you’ll need to search for purple-looking skull chests along your adventures. These contain the different cipher fragments for both the Niflheim and Muspelheim runes. Not only do you need this for Atreus to be able to read some of the runes scrawled across cliff faces or cave walls, but getting all of them will grant you the ability to travel to that realm.

As such, you’ll want to check out our guide here on how to get all the Muspelheim Cipher Fragments in God of War. Once you’ve grabbed them all, simply make your way back to the Travel Room. Simply select Muspelheim from the different realms you can choose from, and confirm your choice. Once the Travel Room has finished doing its thing, you’ll be able to exit the room and straight into the Fire Realm of God of War.

That’s all you need to know to get to Muspelheim (Fire Realm) in God of War.

God of War (commonly referred to as God of War 4 or God of War PS4 is an upcoming third-person action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). It will be released on April 20, 2018 for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) console. It is the eighth installment in the God of War series, the eighth chronologically, and the sequel to 2010's God of War III. The story is a new direction for the series, as it is loosely based on Norse mythology—all previous games were based on Greek mythology. Series protagonist Kratos returns as the main character, and he now has a son named Atreus. Kratos acts as a mentor and protector to his son, and has to master the rage that has driven him for many years.

Described as a "reimagining" for the franchise, the gameplay has been completely rebuilt, with one major change being that Kratos no longer uses his signature double-chained blades. He instead uses a magical battle axe called the Leviathan Axe. Another notable change is the camera; the game uses an over-the-shoulder free camera as opposed to the fixed cinematic camera seen in the previous entries. There are also elements similar to role playing games and Kratos' son Atreus can provide assistance during gameplay. A short text-based game called God of War: A Call from the Wilds was released on February 1, 2018 through Facebook Messenger, and follows Atreus on his first adventure into the Norse wilds.

God of War received critical acclaim, being praised for its combat, visuals, world design, story, and characters. Receiving a 95/100 from review aggregator Metacritic, it is the highest-scoring game in the franchise. It has the second highest score of all time for a PlayStation 4 game (tied with The Last of Us Remastered), and the highest score for an original, non-remastered PlayStation 4 game. It is currently the highest rated PlayStation 4 game of 2018, as well as the highest rated game of 2018, regardless of platform.
