Time for something hardcore! This is my playthrough of God of War, the original version released for PS2, on god difficulty (the highest one that you unlock after beating the game for the first time).

To be honest, I find this game very frustrating, with a number of stages/points in the game that are very unbalanced in terms of difficulty, which ruins the climactic nature of some of the scenes (boss fights are too long or ruined by stages), enemies are simply "damage sponges" which also makes the combat very repetitive rather than challenging (I don't mind a challenge, but I hate when it's more of an endurance round than skill-based). I also hate quick-time events; in my opinion, players should have an option to either finish the enemies off in the standard way or through quick time events ONLY to have a more spectacular victory.

Still, I think the story and the general gameplay and design are great, as well as the music. So, if you want to see me struggle to beat this game, sit comfortably and watch the video!

I know I seriously suck at certain points, this is because this is my "virgin" playthrough on this difficulty and I need to adjust my combat style and learn new tactics. I sometimes even had to "cheat" by using some gaps in the AI design.

NOTE: I kind of managed to increase the quality of videos compared to parts 1-3 thanks to a Hauppauge PVR capture device so that I can scale the resolution and stream consoles on my PC. A true lifechanger! However, there is a small lag at the beginning of every cutscene. I do not know how to fix that ;/
NOTE 2: Although I described the game as "frustrating" and pointed out a bad difficulty design, this playthrough is very special to me, because I started playing it on the day my father was diagnozed with a suspected malignant cancer. The game, its very intensive gameplay, is my little escape and a (pretty hardcore) relief in this very unpleasant period.
NOTE 3: This is a copy of my stream so whenever there is a pause, on most occassions it is because I was focused on the chat.
