Vampire Master of Darkness Sega Longplay on Retro Freak Part 02 [FINAL]
0Thanks to the AVGN series and the fact that I brought my old Amiga 600 to our new apartment, I got interested in retro gaming. I got interested in it so much, that I bought a Retro Freak console. It is a wonderful beast of a retro console made by a Japanese company called Cyber Gadget. Thanks to this device, I may record some cool older games in HD!
The gameplay features one of the Retro Freak filters, namely SuperEagle. In my opinion, it makes the game look better.
The game Master of Darkness is clearly a Sega alternative for Castlevania. Everything in this game seems similar: main mechanics, level design, story. I found this game to be very entertaining, with the difficulty level that is just perfect (with minor imbalance and several unfair parts). The only thing I find very inconvenient and annoying is the way you climb the stairs (and there is a LOT of stairs, mind you). Basically, you have to press the d-pad in a diagonal way, depending on the direction you want to go. It also seems that you have to be at some perfect spot to trigger the climbing. This made the game very annoying in the Laboratory stage, where stairs in some rooms are just next to a pit. Many times, I died simply because the protagonist would just walk and fall into the pit instead of climb the stairs... Still, I really recommend this game. It was very fun!
