I finally reached the final battle and... it took me actually several hours of attempts to finally beat Ares. I cut out most of the footage because it was pointless, especially when my PS2 froze twice, so I had to start the whole fight from the beginning.

All in all, storywise, God of War is a great game, well-written, etc. When it comes to some parts of the gameplay and mechanics, if I am to rate the game based on its highest difficulty, it is one of the most annoying titles I have ever played. The difficulty is cheap, based on damage-sponge enemies, cheap deaths, unresponsive controls, while the final boss fight is just unbeatable for the first half an hour (of each stage) because you have to figure out a lot of elements, which is hard, since you die within seconds. The second boss stage (in which you are to save your family) is anti-climactic, insanely difficult yet monotonous. Not to mention quick-time events, if you think you are to beat the first form of Ares... you get killed within seconds because you missed an unexpected quick-time event prompt. I am glad I finished this game though. At least I can have my own opinion on it :)

NOTE: I kind of managed to increase the quality of videos compared to parts 1-3 thanks to a Hauppauge PVR capture device so that I can scale the resolution and stream consoles on my PC. A true lifechanger! However, there is a small lag at the beginning of every cutscene. I do not know how to fix that ;/
NOTE 2: Although I described the game as "frustrating" and pointed out a bad difficulty design, this playthrough is very special to me, because I started playing it on the day my father was diagnozed with a suspected malignant cancer. The game, its very intensive gameplay, is my little escape and a (pretty hardcore) relief in this very unpleasant period.
NOTE 3: This is a copy of my stream so whenever there is a pause, on most occassions it is because I was focused on the chat.
