Godzilla Monster of Monsters! - Unused Music
52Just when I thought I was never gonna find anything else leftover in the rom I stumbled upon this. Someone has actually already posted the song up as part of the soundtrack, but I have no idea how he managed to find it. I found this by accident.
The code is 00CC 16. I warn you, the code replaces literally all audio in the game, even the sound effects. So here's what I did to make it seem normal, I activated the code, got to the level, and then deactivated it so that it would not keep looping every time I punch/get hit/kick/use the atomic breath/etc...
The cool thing about this code is how if you set it to value 01, you'll get the Godzilla theme from the Japanese version, and you can play the levels with it. You can also find the Military March song used for the Solar System intro in the Japanese version.
So what exactly is this song doing here? I don't know, it could have been a song that was supposed to be used for a cut planet, or it could have been made for a enemy boss that never made it into the game, after all, Neptune never added any new kaiju bosses unlike the other planets. Maybe this was originally Moguera's/Baragon's theme, since they both have the same song. Maybe it's some leftover song from another game that may or may not have ever been released? Or it could just be a song some developed snuck into the rom for no reason other than for some guy like me to discover and try to figure out why it even exists.
