Golden Axe 3: Full Playthrough - Kain Blade & Sarah Vane (No Commentary) [LIVE]
12Welcome to this playthrough of Golden Axe 3 for the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive!
In this game, Ax Battler & Tyris Flare (from the first two games) are replaced with Kain Grinder or Kain Blade & Sahra Burn or Sarah Vane, respectively. The latter two characters resemble the former two from the predecessors. This game was only released in Japan, but would first be released outside of that country as part of the SEGA Channel in North America and would then be released again as part of the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive Collection for the PlayStation 2 & Portable, followed by Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection & Ultimate Mega Drive Collection for the PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360, and even the Wii Virtual Console.
Gilius Thunderhead is the only warrior who returns from the previous two installments; however, he's not playable and instead asks the heroes to retrieve the Golden Axe from the clutches of Damned Hellstrike. Alongside Kain & Sarah, you also get to play as Proud Cragger & Cronos "Evil" Lait. This marks the first game where you can select your paths, as the previous two games were very linear.
Depending on how many players played and also which character(s) you selected, the remaining warriors were cast by the spell of Damned Hellstrike, and you must battle and defeat them along the way in order to cure them of the curse. Also, along the way, you will battle Eve, an Eagle that was transformed into from the King who was also cursed by the evil monster. Upon returning the King to normal, he asks the heroes to rescue his daughter; the princess is captured inside the castle.
At the end, you will battled Damned Hellstrike, and defeating him will rescue the princess. If you defeat the final boss and you are not on your final Credit of the game, you will battle Damned Hellstrike again one final time, and you will get to see the True Ending.
I will first be playing as Kain Blade/Kain Grinder, and then I will play as Sahra Burn/Sarah Vane; will I reach the True Ending with both characters? Tune in and find out for yourselves!
