Golden Axe! A classic release title, ported from the arcade, that in all fairness has aged pretty terribly. But is it still worth playing?

Well, yes. Why else would I have started this?

In hindsight, I probably should have done a practice run before recording this. And I most certainly shouldn't have been drinking while recording. As such, I play like shit pretty much all the way through, and oh boy, it shows.

But at least I don't lose a life here. If that ever happened, I'd never play this game ever again.

Of course, like almost everyone else on the planet, I decided to be boring and send Gillius Thunderhead (aka "The Dwarf", "the small guy with the axe", "that Viking bloke", or, in some stupid circles, "Santa") on this adventure. If I'm playing 2P, I'll usually end up as Tyris Flare instead, because magic is awesome. And it's not worth the hassle of arguing who gets to be Gillius when there are big bald men with hammers who need a good thrashing, already loitering in the village.

Besides which, Ax-Battler's a bit shit. He doesn't even use an axe, which is just a whole world of confusion. But that's another story altogether.
