The first layer of this game is a terrifying and unsettling survival horror, but dig a bit deeper and you're taken on a surreal trip into a bizarre world that defies any laws or rules. You're given one goal: dive deeper into the Gut, and save She, your beloved. In the Gut you'll navigate levels populated with enemies to find keys to the exit in progressively harder levels. Golden Light really shines is in the art style, story, setting, and overall aesthetic. Meat will be your friend, your foe, your home, your weapon, your everything. No single person or thing you meet is normal, the world is like a constant fever dream, but it's self-aware and never feels forced. It delivers a clean blend of humor and horror with surprisingly good pacing, and the characters all have unique personalities while still feeling off-putting and bizarre.
