Golden VGM #639 - Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies ~ UNKNOWN
- DESCRIPTION:
Well, it finally happened. I managed to buy and play every single Ace Attorney game, minus Miles Edgeworth 2 for obvious reasons. I had a feeling Professor Layton & Phoenix Wright would inspire me to play more of the Ace Attorney series, but I wasn't so sure if I would buy the latest three games in the series one right after the another. But I did!
And the reason for that is because from Apollo Justice, to Miles Edgeworth, to Dual Destinies, the quality kept going up and up, with Dual Destinies reaching the height of potential that the Ace Attorney series has been striving to achieve. In other words, Dual Destinies is freaking amazing!
It cleans up any irritations I had with the previous games. Trial and error is still present, but the polished interface and ability to save in-game this time around, made the process so much less frustrating. The game is more linear this time around, but even so, it is a massively long game.
On top of that, the character models are very expressive and polished, the soundtrack is the best in the series, and the story is fantastic. It was a bit of a slow pace at first, but towards the final few cases, the story ramps up and becomes very compelling. So much so, that I literally stayed awake until 3AM playing this game, which I had done so all that day. The last case in particular had a fantastic mystery, and really threw me off as to who "the phantom" was all along.
I am so glad I played this game, and I urge any fan of Ace Attorney that hasn't picked it up yet to get it immediately!
