In April 2018, Google officially broke ground on a $600 million data center in Jackson County, Alabama. Now a fully operational site, the data center supports over 4,000 jobs and generates more than a billion dollars for the state economy. We work hard to support the communities in which our employees live and work. Since 2016, we've awarded more than $3,000,000 to local schools and nonprofits, particularly in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through grants, events, and programs.
