A user who wants an Android phone with a driving-friendly interface should instead use Google Maps’ Assistant driving mode or Android Auto, which is available in select cars. A message appeared in the Android Auto for Phone Screens app saying the service is now only available on car screens, pointing users towards the Google Assistant driving mode instead. Google confirmed this after XDA Developers reported users were seeing the message.
