Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 3 is out now on Google Stadia, but it’s a two-month old version of the game. Specifically, it only has updates made as of Oct. 24. Any tweaks to Borderlands 3 since then aren’t yet in the Stadia version.
So what’s the big deal? Well, that means there’s no Mayhem 4 difficulty, bank space, dedicated loot pools for bosses, or the new endgame content. Gearbox said it wants to bring “feature parity for all versions of Borderlands 3” in early 2020, but didn’t give an exact date.
Borderlands 3 on Stadia is available at a “special launch price” until Jan. 7 — $38.99 for the standard edition, $51.99 for the deluxe edition, and $77.99 for the super deluxe edition. Gearbox said it’ll run in 4K with a Stadia Pro subscription.
On Dec. 17, Google Stadia also added Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 to its lineup. Today, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is up.
Google Stadia launched on Nov. 19 with 22 games, but without a bunch of the promised key features. Google has since slowly rolled out more games and features in the months following Stadia’s launch.
