Finnish toilet roll manufacturer Metsä Tissue is set to construct a new "state-of-the-art" tissue paper mill in Goole, East Yorkshire, which it claims will generate over 400 local jobs and significantly reduce tissue product imports to the UK. The facility, planned for development over the next decade, will become the UK's largest tissue paper mill with a production capacity of 240,000 tonnes of tissue paper annually. The project is part of the company's commitment to clean, sustainable manufacturing, utilizing fresh wood fibers from Nordic forests. The factory will be situated in the Humber Freeport area, providing tariff-free imports for companies, and is a significant vote of confidence in the region's economic growth.
