Poland no longer supplying weapons to Ukraine amid grain row
Poland has announced that it is no longer supplying weapons to Ukraine due to a diplomatic dispute over Ukraine's grain exports. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki clarified that it's new Polish weapons that won't be sent, as Poland has already provided Ukraine with Soviet-era tanks and fighter jets. This announcement comes amidst high tensions between the two countries, with Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia extending a ban on Ukrainian grain. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky's comments at the United Nations on this issue had caused controversy, leading to diplomatic friction between the nations. Poland's decision to stop arms transfers aims to prioritize its own defense with more modern weapons. However, arms exports to Ukraine will not completely cease, with previously agreed deliveries still scheduled.
