Gordi and the Math Invaders is an educational game released by Compedia in 1998.
Gordi is playing a game on his computer when suddenly, viruses invade the computer. The Antivirus Policeman enlists the player with the task of defeating the viruses by solving fun math problems.
The game consists of a series of activities. The player has to win an activity in order to get to the next one. The activities can be played from the main menu (with the exception of the Number-at-a-Time Tunnel).
Destroy the Viruses: The player must stop the viruses by placing the traps strategically. If a virus or virus group matches the trap, they explode (either in color or quantity of viruses in the group). If three virus groups get away, the activity starts over.
Clear the Roadblocks: The player must determine if the sum on one side is less than, greater than, or equal to the sum on the other. The player can change the speed to slow, medium, or fast.
Make Antivirus Medication: The player must collect the numbers as they fall and combine three of them in a test tube to make Antivirus Medication. There are two powerups: The Rainbow Drop, which is a wildcard number, and the Splash Drop, which is used to clear a test tube. Overfilling a test tube starts the activity over.
Number-at-a-Time Tunnel: The player must only go through certain numbers in the tunnel, following the instructions. The criterion is random each time one plays.
Spray the Viruses: The player has to spray the correct answer to the sum on the virus, or match the color to the color of the virus.
Dark Tunnel: The player must press the button depicting the shape they see on the screen. In the Hard difficulty, the player must pick the correct number of sides of the shape on the screen. The player can change the speed to slow, medium, or fast.
Power Generator: The player must follow Gordi's instructions and arrange the shapes into a pattern to turn on the power generator.
Delete the Viruses: The player, as Mr. Delete, is on a conveyor belt. They must jump on numbers to make a sum, and then eat the virus the sum adds up to. If the player or the virus get off the screen, the activity restarts.
