Gorilla Tag Dodgeball CANCELED? | History & Problems with Dodgeball
0Gorilla Tag has been having some speculation and leaks about a dodgeball gamemode,
but it seems like it's been canceled, at least for now.
This is the history, and truth of what's going on with dodgeball in Gorilla Tag.
Back in 2020, before the game official released, is the first mention of dodgeball,
with Lemming responding saying that the throwing itself is the problem.
Now that was a year and a half ago, so what has been said since.
Skipping forward to January of 2022, Lemming responds to someone talking about the mechanics of throwing something.
He says it's too inconsistent, and not satisfying at all.
The erratic nature of playing Gorilla Tag made it not fun to do.
Now we are going back in time for a second.
Back in July of 2020, Lemming uploaded a video on twitter showing this throwing in action, back when they were fireballs.
At this point, Gorilla Tag didn't even have gorillas yet.
Also there was a system of enemies chasing you down.
Lemming states in the tweet that it feels great to move around and throw.
This being the case, it seems Gorilla Tag's gameplay style of dodging around and moving randomly,
just doesn't seem to work in a projectile based gamemode.
As it's being brought up again, you could surmise that work is still being put into it,
but don't get your hopes up, although it does seem like a lot of fun to play dodgeball.
But maybe it should be layed to rest, to allow Gorilla Tag to focus on keeping everything feeling great to play.
Maybe in the future, I'd love to see it.
The locomotion system in Gorilla Tag is a great base to build off of, as shown by Gorilla Tag itself.
