Before installing the game, make sure to switch to cpt_1.75_testbranch Beta in Steam (right-click then Properties), it won't install correctly if you switch after installing. You can verify that you got the right version on the main menu.

If you're getting really low fps, open ...steamapps/common/Gothic 3/Ini/ge3.ini and change Timer.ThreadSafe to false.
