1995 saw the release of SEGA Rally Championship on the SEGA Saturn, a game that moved the genre of console driving games on significantly. Head and shoulders above anything else available on consoles, and paving the way for games like the original Gran Turismo in 1997 and Colin McRae Rally in 1998.

In the summer of 1997 I had plenty of time on my hands between academic years at university, and I caned this game hard. 25 years on I revist SEGA Rally, paying homage on Gran Turismo 7 and firing up the SEGA Saturn to see how close I could get to the times I set a quarter of a century ago.
