Amazon Product Review - Lego 75333 Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter: Attack of the Clones

Last night I was sat here writing a review about the new Lego Speed Champions Aston Martin DB5 which I praised for being a faithful representation of an iconic movie vehicle and with a remarkably good value for a Lego set. Tonight, however, I'm feeling a little less enthusiastic after building one of the lesser icons of the Star Wars franchise, and one that didn't give anything like the value for money of the DB5.
Released to coincide with the arrival of the Obi-Wan series on Disney+, although it missed the premier by a good couple of months, the Jedi Starfighter is most noteworthy for not actually being in the Obi-Wan series. It's actually most recognisable from 2002's Episode Two, Attack of the Clones. Obi-Wan visits the Clone factory on Kamino in it, before giving chase to Jengo Fett and the young Boba Fett in Slave-One.
If you remember that chase, you may also remember that Obi-Wan's Starfighter had a Hyperspace docking ring that allowed him to travel at interstellar speeds, something that is completely absent from this Lego model. That was a bit of a disappointment. What you do get though is Obi-Wan himself with circa 2002 Ewan McGregor long hair, or a Jedi cowel, R4-P17 and Taun We, an administrator from Kamino.
The model comes in three bags, the first being mainly the fuselage, the second and third being each of the wings. I was hoping for a build of at least 45 minutes to match the time it took me to build the Aston DB5 which has cost me £7 less, but the Starfighter only took me 35 minutes as you can see in my attached video.
That was a disappointment, but not a suprise. Star Wars Lego models at the lower price range rarely take much time to complete.
Normally, that's not too much of an issue as I'm more interested in the finished model rather than the build itself. Many Lego models overcome the poor value for money in the build time by being an outstanding display model, but in the case of the Starfighter it's rather bland. It was never a particularly iconic ship from the Star Wars universe. If I asked you to name a ship from Star Wars you'd have gone a long way past X-Wings, Y-Wings, Falcons, multiple TIE fighter configurations and speeders before you get to the Starfighters.
I don't actually know where I'm going to put this model. It'll get lost in amongst my existing Lego models. And that's the problem. Although as Lego Star Wars models go, it's cheap, but I've almost forgotten about it already.
