Around 40 minutes to beat but I tried other modes before setting the lives to 99, as I did here in custom mode. I first tried normal mode which gives you standard lives and 3 or 4 continues. Then I tried custom mode but set the lives to 17. I assumed that would be plenty for 4 continues. On custom mode its 1 CC though, so for my third attempt I just set it to 99 lives and went for the kill, finishing with 80 lives remaining. This game has some cool aspects but also alot of very trial and error bullshit that you cannot beat the first time, without alot of luck. There are certain paths that are locked off and you crash if you take them. Unbreakable walls, as far as I can tell and other cheap surprises. I lost most of my lives on the sneak attack type of shit but very few lives on bosses and normal enemies.

Custom mode requires 1 CC completion so I would not consider that a challenge run or part of my 1 CC playlist.
